? Le Vent du Nord – Neighborhoods

Label: La Compagnie du Nord

Le Vent du Nord rises again with Voisinages, its 13ᵉ album, accompanied by a show directed by Michel Faubert. Inspired by their 20 Printemps international tour (over 100,000 tickets sold, winner of several awards including a Félix 2022, an Opus 2023 and a Songlines Music Award 2023 – Americas), the Quebec quintet invites us to a poetic and musical exploration of the theme of neighborhoods.

With Voisinages, the group opens its doors to its “good neighbors”: Celtic music from Ireland and Scotland, American folk, songs from Acadia and French-speaking America. These influences feed a rich repertoire of stories and emotions – battles won and lost, abuse, loss, friendship and love. It’s a true invitation to celebrate humanity in all its forms, carried by an infectious energy and a deep sense of sharing.

Since it was founded in 2002, Le Vent du Nord has established itself as an essential ambassador for French-speaking music and a driving force behind Quebec’s progressive folk movement. Renowned for their powerful interpretations, innovative arrangements and generous stage presence, the band has conquered stages the world over: over 2200 concerts on 4 continents, 12 previous albums and numerous prestigious awards (including the Grand Prix du Disque Charles Cros, 2 JUNO Awards, 2 Canadian Folk Music Awards and 4 Félix awards).

Now made up of Nicolas Boulerice, André Brunet, Réjean Brunet, Olivier Demers and André Gagné, Le Vent du Nord continues its journey with undiminished intensity.
Voisinages embodies the openness and musical curiosity that have made the group a global benchmark for contemporary traditional music.

? A vibrant, human album, deeply rooted in local culture – to be discovered without delay!
